It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the loss of Oswald Glen Smith on May 10th, 2018. Born in Toronto on May 13, 1951. Beloved husband and best friend of Laura (nee Wells) Smith for 44 years. Glen was the only son of Dr. Paul and Anita Smith (both deceased). Loving brother of Jann (Peter Lapp) and Jill (Dan Murdoch). Special Uncle to Christopher (Megan Avalos), Leslie (Chris Breedyk), Jane, Hope, Conor, Davina, Kendra, Dylan and Shelby. Glen was the son-in-law of Jerrie and Ralph Wells (both deceased).

Glen was inherently kind with a big heart. He was a very talented musician and music was a constant theme throughout his life. He will be missed by a wide circle of friends and many cousins. Gone too soon . . . we will look forward to hugging him on the other side.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 26th from 1pm to 4pm at Innisfil Funeral Home (7910 Yonge St. Stroud). Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.innisfilfuneralhome.ca

My Dear Laura, I am so sorry to learn that your dear Glen has passed. Of course, I have not been on Facebook for several years though you, Glen and all of my Wells family have been on my mind and in my heart. I'm sorry that I lost touch with you with you and feel so terrible for this sad, sad loss. I only met Glen when your dear Mom passed but the two of you were like peanut butter and jelly. What a terrific pair you were together. I can only imagine how heart broken you are. He was such a wonderful man with an incredible love of life. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I miss you and would love to touch base with you once things calm down a bit. I will keep Glen in my prayers. He is in great company with loving arms to greet him. Now there's more laughter, great food and music in heaven. Until you meet again, take comfort in knowing the loving souls that surround him now. All my love and hugs to you and Glen's family your sister, Jill

Glen was such a fine man. He was always quick to laugh and offer a hand. He knew how to be a true friend and for this I couldn't thank him enough. I learned a lot by being just around him and I will miss him so very, very much. . Our sincerest condolences to you for your loss.

My favorite memory of Glen was one time I had the honour of playing guitar next to him while he smiled and played his bass. He seemed to actually shine when he was in the middle of a song. I will remember him this way,... doing what made him happy. Even though he was an *older* guy (2yrs) he was always kind to me as a teen. Amazing how two years meant a lot then and now, not so much. God bless him! My sincere sympathy to the Smith Family and friends.

Glen was a rare person. He was kind, decent and good. He was sociable, and at his best enjoying good times with friends and of course, playing music. I am fortunate for having shared nearly fifty years of friendship with Glen. I imagine for many of his friends it doesn't seem real that he is gone. I catch myself staring and remembering. I am sad but also thankful for sharing in a treasure chest of good memories with Glen. Family and friends are the true treasures of life and Glen was a gift to many. Pat Panza

Laura, so sorry to hear of Glen passing, we worked together for so many years and fond memories of our discussions of food and cooking ...my heart goes out to you and the Smith family. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle person.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Glen "Gordie" Smith. He was a colleague, a friend and a fellow musician with whom I always enjoyed working with for nearly 30 years. Words alone can not convey the essence of this kind, caring person who never seemed to complain at all about anything. His knowledge and passion for anything to do with music was both fascinating and inspiring. He will be profoundly missed by anyone who know him. My sincerest condolences and sympathies for Laura and all his family and friends.
